What it means to be Heavenly Conscious

The Word View Church exists to raise people who are heavenly conscious and earthly relevant. Just what does this mean? Trying to explain this is the purpose of this blog. we reflect this mission in our daily lives. Living with this consciousness is what will make us relevant in our world today.

When anyone gets saved or becomes born-again—makes Jesus their Savior and Lord—the person is born of the Spirit of God and has become a child of God right away. Their spirit is reconnected to God and the Holy Spirit now lives in them. Their sins are forgiven and blotted out completely (Eph 1: 7). God has made them righteous.

This person has automatically become a citizen of heaven because they have been translated from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of God (Col 1: 13, Phil 3: 20). Not only that, the kingdom of God is birth in them. The good news is that all this happens instantaneously.

Nothing may have changed in their body or even in their actions, but according to God’s word, they have immediately become a brand new person in Christ. This is the beauty of God’s redemptive power and grace. The past is inconsequential to what God wants to do in and through them. This is how the Bible describes the aftermath of this experience:

So from now on we regard no one from a human point of view [according to worldly standards and values]. Though we have known Christ from a human point of view, now we no longer know Him in this way. Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]. But all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ [making us acceptable to Him…]  (2Cor 5: 16-18).

What an experience!

The mistake anyone can sometimes make is to keep seeing them as they used to be and not as the new person they are in Christ.

This understanding is foundational to our being heavenly conscious. We are no longer of the earth. We don’t think like the people of the world, we are in Christ and have been recreated into the image and the likeness of God. This is what Jesus came to accomplish for us. He came to change our perspective, our way of thinking and reasoning. He came to show us our true essence based on how God sees us. If we neglect what God has done, we will remain like ordinary people. The reason we must be heavenly conscious is so that we can be aligned with our source and be attuned to where we originated from. We as God’s people carry the image of the heavenly not earthly.

“To the extent that we are heavenly conscious is to that extent we will truly make a maximum impact in our world today to the glory of God.”

Jesus was so heavenly-minded when He was on earth He did nothing without consulting God first. He said He only did what He saw His Father did (Jn 5: 19-20). In other words, He mimicked God His father. He said He would dare not do anything outside of God’s will. He was so God-dependent. We too are called to mimic God as His dear children.

In reality, God does not want us as His children to live independent of Him. We must be aware of who He is, who He is to us, and who we are in Him. We must always remind ourselves that we are here because of Him and for Him.

If we lose the reality of our heavenly status, we will lose our focus here and will eventually lose our way. To be truly earthly relevant, we must be heavenly conscious. To the extent that we are heavenly conscious is to that extent we will truly make a maximum impact in our world today to the glory of God.

At the end of it all, it is about God and not about us. It is about His glory, not our name. It is about His kingdom, not ours. It is about what He has determined to do and not about us doing anything we want to do anyhow we want to do it. What will bring fulfillment and meaning at the end of the day is knowing that we are living out a divine blueprint for our lives.

Will you be a part of this movement? Will you join us? Will you choose to live as God’s representative, regent, and ambassador? Will you live for Him starting today? Will you be heavenly conscious and earthly relevant?

Having said that, before we discuss what it means to be heavenly conscious, let’s quickly look at what it doesn’t mean…

  1. It does not mean that I wear a long robe, and carry a big bible around with a long face
  2. It does not mean that I don’t enjoy the good things of life that God has provided
  3. It does not mean I made a vow to live in abject poverty
  4. It does not mean I am overly religious
  5. It does not mean that I have a holier-than-thou attitude
  6. It does not mean I spiritualize everything
  7. It does not mean that I am critical of everyone and everything
  8. It does not mean that I see going to heaven as an escape route and abandon my responsibilities here on the earth

So, what then does it mean to be heavenly conscious?

  1. It means that I am aware that I am a child of God and know my worth in Christ
  2. It means that I know that I belong to God
  3. It means that I am aware of God’s presence in me and through me
  4. It means that I am enjoying His presence not only when I pray or read His word but as I commune with Him within me every moment
  5. It means that I am seeking to bring Him glory in everything I do even in the mundane things
  6. It means that I am God’s ambassador here on earth
  7. It means that I am aware that I am a citizen of heaven
  8. It means that I can use God’s wisdom to resolve earthly issues
  9. It means that I see life through God’s eyes
  10. It means I am aware of my spiritual DNA, my royalty, my priesthood status, and my humanity
  11. It means that this world is not it for me.
  12. It means I am living out my purpose daily and seeking to do the good works that God has created for me to do
  13. It means that I commit my ways to Him every day and trust Him to direct my path
  14. It means I become the hands of Jesus, the legs of Jesus, and express His kingdom wherever I find myself
  15. It also means that I am aware of and delight to do God’s will wherever I find myself
  16. It means that I will not be limited by my environment because I have access to heaven

So, as you live out your life, you must always remember that to the extent you want to be earthly relevant to that extent you must be heavenly conscious. This is what we want to do. This is the path we want to forge. And this is the way of thinking we want to adopt. This is how we want to live out every single day at the Word View Church.

This is what Jesus came to accomplish for us. He came to change our perspective, our way of thinking and reasoning.

Will you be a part of this movement? Will you join us? Will you choose to live as God’s representative, regent, and ambassador? Will you live for Him starting today? Will you be heavenly conscious and earthly relevant?

Being heavenly conscious starts with making Jesus the Lord of your life. No Jesus no life. Know Jesus, know life. If you want to start living for Him today, please join me in praying this prayer…

Heavenly Father, your word says if I confess with my mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved (Rom 10: 10). Today, I confess Jesus is Lord with my mouth and believe that you raised Him from the dead. As a result, I am saved. Thank you for granting me access to your presence. I make Jesus the Lord of my life today. Thank you for saving me. I am now a child of God, a new creation, old things have passed away, and behold all things have become new” in Jesus’ name. Amen!

If you pray this prayer, you are now a Christian. Please send us an email so that we can celebrate you and show you how to grow in the Lord.
