Matthew 13: 37–38
One of the beautiful truths Jesus reveals in the parable of the wheat and the tares is that the children of the Kingdom are described as good seed. In Matthew 13:38, Jesus declares, “The good seed are the children of the kingdom.” This reveals that, in Christ, we belong to God’s Kingdom and have been given a place in His divine purpose.
A seed may appear small and insignificant, but within it is the potential for growth and fruitfulness. In the same way, you may sometimes feel unnoticed, overlooked, or unqualified, but your life has value in God’s Kingdom. You are not here by accident. God has called you to belong to Him, reflect His character, and demonstrate His goodness in the world.
Being a good seed of the Kingdom means that you are called to grow in faith, be rooted in God’s Word, and allow the Holy Spirit to develop His character in you. Just as a seed must be planted and nurtured to grow, your spiritual life flourishes as you remain connected to Christ and respond obediently to His Word.
A seed is not planted for itself alone; it is planted to produce fruit. Likewise, God desires your life to bear fruit that blesses others and brings glory to His name. Your words can encourage the discouraged. Your kindness can reveal God’s love. Your integrity can demonstrate His truth. Your faithfulness in ordinary moments can become a powerful testimony of His grace.
Do not despise the season in which you find yourself. Seeds grow beneath the soil before their progress becomes visible. Even when you cannot see immediate results, continue trusting God, obeying His Word, and allowing Him to work in you.
You are a child of the Kingdom, planted by God’s grace and called to bear fruit for His glory.
